THANK YOU FOR STOCKING OUR COMMUNITY PANTRY

From mid-June until the end of July this year, our Centre again joined with the Kenmore Rotary in calling on the support of shoppers as part of our annual ‘Community Pantry’ collection. This initiative helps valued local Community Care organisations restock their pantry shelves during winter to assist the homeless and families experiencing hardship.

The cooler months can be a difficult time for those within our community who are most vulnerable, especially given the current cost of living pressures. Thanks to the support of local shoppers, representatives from the Anglicare Welfare Ministries, The Salvation Army, and St Vincent de Paul – Our Lady of the Rosary Conference servicing the Chapel Hill, Kenmore and the Moggill area, have now collected an estimated $8,400.00 worth of everyday staples.

Items collected include but are not limited to:

  • 115 Toothbrush Packets
  • 48 Cartons of Toothpaste
  • 90 Large packets of Pasta
  • 57 Assorted Large Cereal Cartons
  • 81 Large Bottles of Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash
  • 392 Bottle and Cans of Long-Life Food Items and Sauces
  • A Generous Collection of assorted Toiletries and Child Care Items
  • Assorted Children’s School Supplies

These items and so many more, have been prioritised for distribution to members of our local catchment who are most in need. Thank you to all who donated so generously, your support has made this year’s ‘Community Pantry’ collection the most significant and successful yet.
